Aerostar provides dual sourcing option to its customers by manufacturing parts, simultaneously in US and India
Tremendous cost savings with lower international supply chain risks
Aerostar Manufacturing a manufacturer of machined parts and assemblies in the U.S. is expanding in India to help its OEM and Tier 1 customers establish supply chains in India in order to lower costs and mitigate international supply chain risks. “Many of our customers are diversifying their supply chains out of certain countries for the fear of concentration risk and establishing in others, but don’t want to lose the cost advantage”, said Robert Johnson, Vice President of Operations. Aerostar currently provides dual sourcing options to its customers by manufacturing, simultaneously, in its facilities in the U.S. as well as at partner facilities in India. “In many instances we split the volumes 80%, 20% for cost reasons, with the ability to scale up the facility producing 20% in the event of a supply chain interruption at the facility with the 80% split” explained Robert Johnson.
Aerostar is IATF 16949 and AS 9100 D, as well as, NMSDC certified. The company has been serving customers in automotive, trucking, agriculture, automation, defense, food & beverage, railways, power generation, mining, oil & gas and other industries from its Romulus, Michigan and Fort Wayne, Indiana facilities for over 50 years.
